UpSkill Fund
The Salt UpSkill Fund is here to help Salties grow in their craft, confidence, and capability in media.
We’ve got $10,000 available this round to help support upskilling opportunities that will help Salties take a step forward in their vocation.
Over the years, this fund has helped Salties with things like directing workshops, comedy courses, script development, Big Screen Symposium, colour grading masterclasses, Te Reo study, and other practical opportunities that have helped people move forward in their work.
This fund is open to applications of all sizes. From micro-grants through to more substantial grants, we’re open to considering a wide range of opportunities. The last time we ran the fund, we awarded grants to 17 people ranging from $70 to $1,500, totalling $10,000.
If there’s something that would sharpen your skills, build your confidence, or help you take a real next step in media, we’d love to hear about it.

Key dates

Things to note
The Salt UpSkill Fund is only open to Salt members.
This round is focused on upskilling opportunities, rather than general project funding.
We’re looking to support opportunities that will genuinely help you grow in your craft, confidence, and capability in media.
This is an application process, and because funding is limited, not every application will be successful.
Funding may be awarded in full, in part, or not at all.
We may choose to support a range of smaller requests rather than a few larger ones, depending on the applications received.
Applicants may be contacted if we need more information before making a decision.
Successful applicants may be asked to provide proof of cost, registration, or booking details before funds are released.
